Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty, dedicated on October 28, 1886, was given to the United States by the French in the late 19th century.  Standing at the mouth of the Hudson River in New York Harbor as a welcome to all returning Americans, visitors, and immigrants alike, the statue is 305 feet high, including foundation and pedestal.  The famous poem written by Emma Lazarus for the statue is located on a wall of the museum:

Current Park Hours: Liberty Island 9:30am - 5:00pm.
